Let’s get a little bit informed and educated people;P.. In my next posts I’ll try showing you my favorites from the top fashion weeks of the world: New York, London, Milan, Paris, just to share my taste with you who have already seen the shows or let you know what’s coming next season, for those of you who haven’t yet had a chance to dig into the vogue archives (that’s where I get most of this kind of information..guilty pleasure!).
So, to get started, what I was able to detect on the overall was that minimal aesthetics were present in most designers’ designs, that basics with new, more couture-like or asymmetrical shapes. accentuated waste lines and interesting cuts will be on the spotlight this season,as well as that new midi-lengths make a powerful return. I very much enjoyed the inclination I saw towards over-sizing coats or pretty much everything in our wardrobe and the new cape-like coats that were seen on the runway. Sheers, sequins and everything that has a glossy effect are keepers, following the spring mega-trend, I suppose. Fur and feathers are a mass hit as well, not to mention that leather dominated the runway once more (some luxurious fabrics such as velvet were also spotted)! As for colors of the season: Basics (black, grey, brown, A LOT of white-overall looks), vibrant orange-fuchsia-corals, yellows and almost all shades of blue, yes, the blue trend never left the building (mixed with a little bit of purple or green for this season, the new-navy trend is more evergreen than ever)! If you’re a pattern-lover, be grateful this season, many designers included leopard or floral patterns in their collections, but updated them and made them more funky and interesting! Top accessory of the season? I’d say hats for sure!
